Reframing the Unexpected
Curator
Rebecca & Natalie Davey (she/her), hosts of Reframeables
Why did you choose this theme?
Our podcast is called Reframeables. Hosted by two very different sisters, we reframe things to try and get to the other side of life's big and small challenges. Sometimes we do it through conversations just the two of us, and at other times we bring in artists, thinkers, and creators to help us along. These episodes from various podcasts have helped us to reframe some of life's unexpected challenges. Looking at the world from different perspectives brings new insights, making even the most unexpected challenges seem possible to work through... together.

The Chey and Pav Show: Teachers Talking Teaching
The Hoodie Episode
Hosts Chey and Pav reframe education from their perspectives as two middle school teachers. They get real with each other and their listeners as they “reflect, learn, and grow through their weekly banter!" Here's a favorite episode of EarBuds curators Rebecca and Natalie, dedicated to all the teachers who encounter... the hoodie in their classrooms.
Rethink Moments with Rachel Botsman
Rethinking Intentions: Amy Cuddy
In Rethink Moments with Rachel Botsman, reframing looks like guests chatting with the host as they rethink a profound moment from their careers — what went right, what went wrong, and what they learned. In this episode, Rachel talks with guest Amy Cuddy about her TED talk on power posing.
Unladylike
Pep Talk: Swimsuit Body Image with Jessamyn Stanley
EarBuds curators Rebecca and Natalie chose Unladylike because of the way it highlights the power inherent to reading the world through a feminist lens. The show’s consistent use of “pep talk" as they reframe the bullshit expectations that society puts on women is a tangible tool for changing one's mindset. In this episode, they reframe bathing suits.
Dear Lonely Writer
Investing in Your Passions Isn't Selfish with Guest: Samantha M. Bailey
In this episode, host Eden Boudreau discusses the pressure that past generations, and even we, put on our time when we’re investing in our writing and art, and how to reframe that pressure.
Reframeables
Loss and Found
Hosts Natalie and Rebecca Davey are on a mission to reframe anything and everything. Using art, philosophy, humor, and lived experiences, the sisters and their guests offer bite-sized "reframeables" for their audience to chew on long after each episode has ended. In this episode, the sisters reframe loss. They muse about some of their great losses and some of the benefits of experiencing pain — and how it leads us to empathy.
