This Week's Theme: Blackberry The Masses
5 podcast episodes according to a theme, curated by a different person each week
WHY THIS THEME?: I want to empower people to challenge what they know about American history. And I believe that challenging starts with listening to how much more to the story there really is.
CURATOR: Joshua Moore

Being Seen is an in-depth exploration of culture’s role in resolving the tension between how we are seen and how we see ourselves. Focused on the gay and queer Black male experience, the first season of Being Seen is a space to explore these questions through conversations with leading artists, writers, activists, entertainers, and community leaders.

PROMO: I'm obsessed with the new poetry collection, "Negotiations" by poet Destiny Birdsong. It is a stunning love letter to Black women and a simmering indictment of easy "truth."

Podcast Spotlight:
Why Are Dads?
I'm a huge fan of pop culture and movies in particular, but it's rare to find a podcast that approaches the medium from a different perspective. The "Why Are Dads" team, led by Alex Steed and Sarah Marshall, manages to entertain whilst unpacking the overarching paternal tones of some of the best-loved movies in the world. It's a fascinating perspective and benefits from the hosts' clear love for the medium, too.
